Okay, so you're
either curious as to just what a goth is, or you saw the goth
link and said "Hey, a goth...cool!" Either way, here's a way to
find some more information. Okay, I guess the obvious first question
is "what is a goth?" If that's your state right now, then maybe
reading the alt.gothic
FAQ v3.2 will help. If you're too busy for that, the one thing
that can't wait is: Marilyn
Manson is NOT goth. He's Brian Warner, a sad ex-music columnist
who thought it'd be "trendy" to look "goth" for marketing purposes,
and wouldn't know goth if it ripped out his pretentious silly
contact lenses.
Once you've read that, if you still have questions, you might
try the paper magazines Propaganda or Carpe
Noctem. Those of you in Deutschland might want to pick
up a copy of Zillo. If
you follow the links from this page, you should find plenty of
info.
One of the canonical goth e-zines is Take
a Bite, now in HTML format for your webbing enjoyment.
I was at Convergence
6 in Seattle in 2000, had a great time, met a few of you,
was surprised by Peter Murphy, and don't have any pictures. I've
now linked to some of the many pages with pictures from Convergence.
I gave Convergence 7 a miss, in hopes of avoiding the politics,
but I got to Convergence
8 in Montreal. That was an amazing event. Siobhan and Etienne,
you rock most amazingly. Thank you for making it happen. I got
to see some of the work required to put on a Convergence when
I volunteered, and it's an amazing amount. I look forward to C9,
perhaps in Las Vegas.
