Okay, I've moved into the new house, so that's a project in itself. Living way out here in the country has its good sides (such as NO PEOPLE!) as well as the bad (Lotsa work). If I could only get halfway decent connectivity out here for a reasonable price(PTI-now Centurytel--has ISDN for "only" $180 per month for one B channel), it would be perfect. (This is old news, I now live in beautiful Ballard, in a house from 1907.)

On the home side, I'm working on some Linux-controlled X10 home automation for the current house and future houses. I've also picked up a Toshiba Strata phone switch that I hope to use as a home PBX with connections via Internet Line Jack to voice-over-IP stuff as well as the POTS line, and a Linux and mgetty-voice based interactive voice response system. I'm also updating this site, since I've finally got control and can set up PHP, MySQL and CGI. Since I've moved the site in-house, I can also run some fun virtual servers, such as www.nepenthe.net.

I've gone through a few jobs since I started this page. Once, I was the sole sysadmin at Crown College, then I went to Atrieva, which changed its name to Driveway, and then was sysadminning at ActiveIndexing.com, which became 360 Powered Corporation. Whee! It's been a fun ride. Heh. Even more fun. 360 Powered blew up, and I became "Senior Systems Engineer" at Seek Systems. Some of the 360 bunch got back together and started Blue Scooter, which has been marketing-renamed to Arcessa.
